First Trailer For New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie!

COWABUNGA! It’s here! The first trailer for the new TMNT flick! Check it out!

Couple of things:

This trailer doesn’t just scream “Michael Bay Made It!”, it repeatedly smashes you in the face with a bo staff while screaming “Michael Bay Made It”.

It’s clear by the logo that they’re down playing the “Teenage Mutant” part and focusing on the “Ninja Turtles” dynamic. Which ‘ole Mikey said early on was on purpose, as they originally considered leaving off the “Teenage Mutant” altogether.

I also noticed that they’re seems to be a “Amazing Spider-Man”-esque approach here in that it seems to be suggested that the Turtles were intentionally made. And April is much more intricate here than she was in the past. That could be interesting.

All-in-all, it’ll probably at least be a fun watch, and my 6-year-old is going to LOVE it. So there’s that.

What do you guys think? Pumped, or skipping it?

  • I said so long ago that I would outright boycott the idea of this movie with Michael Bay helming this most recent interpretation. The first trailer brought a few highs and a few lows for me.
    1. I LOVE WILLIAM FICHTNER… To be honest I have not seen more than half of his movies but I am always happy when he makes it into something I watch. He is powerful and commanding and seems to be able to play both sides of the coin, hero or villain. Oh and the Shredder armor looked amazing.
    2. I AM OVER MEGAN FOX…. when she first hit the scene on Transformers1 I was just like everyone else, I LOVED HER. Those times however are completely through, she has had some much work done on her face that she isn’t the same woman anymore. Her acting has always left something to be desired and I think she took the part of April O’Neil just to get a paycheck.
    3. THE TURTLES LOOK STRANGE… I grew up watching the original TMNT movies all the time, all three (yes even the japan one that was really bad but hey…. I love it). The dudes in green appear to be too tall and way to over through as far as costume goes. The only part I didn’t have an issue with was the small amount of dialog you got from the TMNT. They sounded like they should.

To finish I would say that as far as this lifelong fan is concerned I am going to need so much more convincing to go see this movie. I normally avoid trailers if I can but for this one I think I will have to keep a close eye on them.

  • I’m with you on WILLIAM FICHTNER, Greg. love that guy. His role as The Accountant in Drive Angry pretty much made that movie come together.
