J. J. Abrams recently answered several questions concerning the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII. According to Abrams the script is complete and they are in “deep prep” for the highly anticipated sequel.
As with most films that are this prominent, the rumor mill has accelerated to Ludicrous Speed. However, Abrams did confirm that he has been, or will be, in talks with Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons for a lead role. “He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah.” Abrams continued, “But, you know. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting … that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I’m going to see you.’”
It has also been rumored that the original Han, Luke, and Leia will not be side-characters as originally thought, but are expected to have a much larger role in the film. Of course, there is always going to be a lot of false rumors with a film that people are so excited about. Who knows. I just hope that Disney is able to do for Star Wars what they did for Marvel, so we can continue to explore a galaxy far, far away.
