Wonder Woman Officially Confirmed For “Man of Steel” Sequel

It’s just been announced that Gal Gadot (from the last 3 Fast & Furious movies) will take on the role of Wonder Woman in the Batman vs. Superman sequel to this summer’s Man of Steel.

Now, I’ve personally never been a fan of the idea of a big screen version of Wonder Woman. Not because I’m a misogynist, but the character has a lot of things that it seems like would be hard to make work in a film. An invisible airplane? A rope that makes people tell the truth? It’s just… strange. Stranger than a guy who’s an alien and shoots lasers from his eyes and can fly? Nope. That s–t is strange too. But it just feels like a different kind of strange.

Also, as my good pal Bill pointed out, you have two origins to have to explain in this flick now. Batman’s and Wonder Woman’s. That could make things convoluted.

I am very glad that they went with someone mostly unknown here though. That was a smart move. No real baggage coming into the role with her like with Benny Affleck.

As long as they strip the character down (that didn’t come out right…), take away the invisible plane and the lasso,  and just make her a strong, powerful female superhero then I think they’ll pull this off. I imagine that’s director Zack Snyder’s vision for the character anyway.

What do you guys think? Excited about Wonder Woman, or is this flick trying to do too much? Let us know your thoughts below!
