We have a new cast member for the untitled Batman//Superman film that is scheduled for release in May 6th of 2016. Warner Brothers and DC announced on April 24th that they have made a selection for who would play Victor Stone… a theater actor by the name of Ray Fisher, this will also be his first major film debut.

It is exciting for Cyborg fans (I didn’t know there were any…) because this will be the first time Cyborg makes an appearance on the silver screen. It is also exciting to announce that it appears that most of the Justice League is forming. On television we have Green Arrow and the soon to be The Flash show on CW, and in film we now have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg. The only two key characters missing are Green Lantern and Aquaman, but it would be awesome to see Martian Manhunter on the big screen.

According to Variety DC had no official statement for the announcement.

  • This is a great casting! I have no problem whatsoever with this unknown playing Vic.

My problem is most of the Justice League members being cast in a movie that isn’t being promoted, at least not yet, as a Justice League movie. More isn’t always better, and with each new casting of an A-List DC character to this single film it feels more and more like adding a Jenga block atop an already unstable tower.

If they ARE going the JL route, however, I’d like to see Firestorm make the cut. 🙂
