Magic: the Gathering: the MOVIE

Good news, Magic: the Gathering fans! Fox recently announced that a Magic: the Gathering film franchise is in the works.

Simon Kinberg (currently working on the Star Wars sequels and the Fantastic Four reboot) will be at the helm of project with the Stephen Davis (president of Hasbro), Brian Goldner (CEO of Hasbro), and Greg Leeds (CEO of Wizards of the Coast) as executive producers. Fox is said to be trying to capture the scope and feel of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter franchises.

As an outsider looking in (I have played it twice), it does seem that there is a LOT of source material to draw from that could make for an epic franchise.  I mean, the card.   What do you guys think? Sound off in the comments below!
