Constantine has officially been picked up as a TV show for NBC. The show will feature Matt Ryan as John Constantine, who I personally think will be a great face for the character. Alongside Matt Ryan will be Harold Perrineau, of Sons of Anarchy and Lost, and will feature Lucy Griffiths of True Blood. I honestly like the casting hey have done for this so far, I love Lost, Sons of Anarchy and True Blood so I feel the character will be portrayed in a very positive light.
I was worried when I heard that Constantine would be a television show on a fairly family friendly network. That is until I watched Hannibal. With the dark nature of John I was worried they would try to appeal the character to children and basic comic book movie fans, but I think NBC can take this show into a very dark and edgy light. It will be very interesting to see how they pull of the demons and evil spirits. It will be very interesting to see if they later introduce John’s female love interest Zatanna into the mix. John Constantine should be in good hands with “writer Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist,” “Dexter”) who serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (“Man of Steel,” “The Dark Knight Rises”).”
